Portland

I am in Portland now. For those who haven't followed my life recently, I was going to go to Columbia International University, but I changed my mind a month-ish ago. I decided to attend Multnomah University (formerly Multnomah Bible School). So lo and behold, after a lot of scrambling around getting papers signed, resigned, lost, found, lost again then finally sent. I got accepted. By God's great hand I am sitting in my room after a day of orientation and hanging out in downtown Portland. Oh, I am studying Intercultural Studies and the Bible... (Double major).

I like it down here a lot. I feel somewhat intimidated though. Having gone to a community college for two years, then spending a year in Sweden doing not a whole lot of scholarly work. We'll see what happens when my first paper comes in. I love the dorm life already, it is so much fun. Met some solid guys. And no, I haven't met a girl yet (well, I have met girls, but not a girl I am interested in). I am not really looking either. Just so you know. But if God wants to "inconvenience" my life with a wonderful young woman, I guess I could roll with that.

Downtown is nice. We went to Waterfront park, and watched Chris Tomlin play. It was neat. I sometimes don't like events like this though. But that would be a lot of typing. Maybe I will write a paper on it.

What else... Oh! I got a Macbook. This is really fun. I like it a lot right now. Apple gave me a good deal too. I got the 'Book and got a free HP printer and a free 8 gig iPod touch. Yay materialism. I still struggle with the purchase, couldn't the one grand gone somewhere else? Probably. Did I need a Mac? Hmm. The computer will last me a long time, so I suppose it was a good investment.

God is good. His promises are steadfast. I enjoy life with Christ. The more I walk with Him, the more I realize it is not a process of self improvement like our culture likes, but a process of self denial (denying myself and turning to Christ), our culture doesn't like that.

Goodnight. Nate
